“No Time for Games”

Protecting the health of the nation and the health of our children in a changing climate.

Today I met with representatives from Doctors for the Environment Australia to discuss the importance of science and evidence-based policy as we look to the future and the impact of climate change on human health.

The science of climate change is undeniable. It is time to make informed and socially responsible policy for the future of all Australians, especially our children.

The prospect of inaction by Government on the issue of climate change is devastating for our citizens and also our health care system.

As a medical professional, I am proud to sign the ‘No Time for Games Pledge’ as together we acknowledge the immense challenge before us and determine real paths of action that can turn the greatest threat to humanity into the greatest health opportunity.

I encourage my peers and the community to support this important movement as we promote an urgent, proactive and holistic government strategic and operational approach to climate mitigation, particularly recognising the significant health benefits for children.
